Megan Hess is a Melbourne-based illustrator inspired by fashion and old-world glamour. Hess has illustrated for some of the world’s top fashion designers, publications, department stores and best selling books. As one of the worlds most sought after fashion illustrators. with a client list that includes Vanity Fair, TIME, Vogue, Chanel, Tiffany & Co. Fendi, Dior, Guerlain, Rolex, Bvlgari, HBO, Bloomingdales, Henri Bendel, Candace Bushnell and Disney.
You might not know Megan from looking at her photos, but I guarantee that you have seen her fashion illustrations on book covers, magazines and chic advertisements. Hess had her first big break when she was hired to draw the cover of Candice Bushnell’s new novel…you know…a little book titled “Sex and the City!”I can’t get enough of Megan and her overall style, whether that means following her on Instagram, Facebook or visiting her Website where I watch her bio video.
Although Brisbane-born Hess’ love of illustration blossomed at a young age, she never thought of it as a possible career. She instead began her creative career studying Graphic Design at Griffith University, feeling as if it was the closest thing to a ‘real job’ in the art world. Upon graduation from university, Hess landed her first job with Mojo in Brisbane, one of Australia’s high-profile advertising companies. After working as an art director in various advertising agencies for several years, Hess packed everything up and moved to London where she worked in a variety of creative jobs. She incorporates exotic places and culture into her designs as well.
Megan is now designing home décor pieces to accent your home with, such as, pillows, trays and of course her art work and illustrations. For more on Megan Hess visit www.meganhess.com
