A Host of Talents | Nikki Nicole
Updated: Oct 16, 2020
It was another day on an independent set. I was enjoying a wonderful conversation with a few ladies. We were speaking of our passions, purpose, and goals we wanted for our lives. We were connecting and relating as women in this entertainment industry on different levels. One of the ladies I was talking to looked familiar but I couldn't put my finger on it. She had a pretty smile, blonde hair and was so down to earth. Then as the conversation was coming to an end, she mentioned being a radio personality and a fellow crew member told me she's a co-host on "Kandi Koated Nights", a TV Show filmed in Atlanta. I laughed to myself, feeling weird that I was giving my "advice" or "suggestions"( if you will) as to what I would do differently in pursuing my career at this stage. Why you ask?... well, she was already established and was in her career on the level I was trying to get to. You see, it was only about 4 years ago that I truly gained real clarity and understanding about my purpose, career and lifestyle. I was in the beginning stages of revamping and rearranging things accordingly. In other words, I was basically starting all over. So, why would she take my advice or even care what I had to say.
However, almost a year and half later, I got a message from her thanking me for everything I shared with her. I was shocked and amazed that she not only listened but applied it. She said it had helped. I was very happy. In my gut I knew that it would, especially being in the lane she was in. She had no idea how that aided me in my own personal growth as well. It also showed me more about this woman I meet on set that was beautiful, spicy, fun and real. And her name is Nikki Nicole.
Nikki Nicole is a radio, television and music artist herself who became the co-host of Kandi Koated Nights alongside Kandi Burrus. She was previously part of a show called 411 The Show. She is a print model for local Boutiques and Brands in Atlanta, a producer, writer and a proud mom. Nikki is currently co-hosting on "2 Twisted Sisters" Radio @ World Star Hit Radio. So, if you haven't heard about her yet, believe me you well soon. I have kept in touch with Nikki and decided it was time to turn the tables on her. It was time for someone to interview her. Checkout my interview below.

Q&A
1. Why did you choose the career path of radio?
Radio was a last option on my vision board in 2014. I quess, I should have put that first. But I love entertainment and acting and/or producing was my original first choice. I have been doing radio since 2015. It's funny how things work out thou. 2. How would you describe your style as a radio personality? I would describe my personality as transparent, relatable, raw...basically real. 3. What or Who inspired you? Strong women inspired me. My mother for sure. Lucy Duvall, I loved watching her when I was younger and Carol Burnett. Women of power who weren't afraid to speak their minds and do things they wanted in life.
4. What do you want to be known for? My legacy...I just want to have people come home after a long crazy day and be able to take their stress away. I want to provide something that will lift their heavy burdens and just make them feel good for awhile.
5. What is your favorite part and the worst part of your industry?
I love that what I am doing... "being me " is considered a talent. I love that I can just be Nikki and have this career. The one thing that I don't care for are the "hoops" you might have to jump through to get things done or to get advanced. The politics or whatever you want to call it...it really sucks and can be frustrating sometimes. 6. What has been the hardest part of your journey thus far?
The hardest part is seeing a vision that you are so passionate about fall apart. Things don't always go the way you intend them to. It can take on a different nature or outcome. I feel I should have been famous along time ago when I was younger. That can be a very difficult thing sometimes when things don't turn out the way you envision them.
7. You spoke about the desire to act. Where did this desire come from? My desire for acting came from the desire to be different people. When acting you can become anyone you want. I can be a doctor or lawyer and it's also very therapeutic as well.
8. Have you begun the process of pursuing acting?
Yes, I have. I have been in a few short and independent films. I also have a few shows with Fox TV coming soon as well. 9. Where do you hope to be in 5 years? In 5 years, I want to have produced 2 shows that I am not casted in. I want to be able to use all of my talents...I have a lot of interests. To have a show that aids in empowering women would be great and also, hopefully, helping the homeless. I have a heart for that as well. There is so much I want to do. I also have business investments and I'm getting involved with real astate as well. 10. What would be your ideal role to play? Any role starring in a feature film...preferably a Hollywood big budget film. 11. If you could only choose one, which will it be: Radio Personality, TV Host or Actress? Actress, because acting will give me the platform to do all of the other things I have in mind. 12. You have interviewed and meet many celebrities. Have you been "starstruck" yet?
Uh, no ...no not yet. I hope I didn't offend anybody. But I haven't yet. I grew up in Hollywood, so, I have been around celebrities. I have been around a lot of people. LOL. No, not yet but who knows.
13. What advice would you give to anyone desiring a career in radio?
Make sure you are in the right genre of radio and around the right people. Do your research. And most importantly...Be Yourself. That's so important. People don't understand how important that is. Just be yourself no matter what.
