I Believe in Korto | Korto Davis
Korto = Fighter, her family had no idea the power of the name they appointed her with. But, when it came time for her to pursue her passion and purpose, Liberian Native, Korto Davis, fought for her belief and choice of becoming an actress against her family wishes. She attended the film school Eagle Drama College of professional studies in Accra Ghana 2011. Since then she has starred in couple of movies in Ghana, Nigeria, and Liberia. The leading Lollywood screen beauty set a record in 2017 by opening doors for Liberian-actors and the movie industry in Liberia. She made the category of “Best Lead Role in Film” for the Nigerian Entertainment Awards(NEA). This is the first time for a Liberian to be nominated in the history of African films. The actress was in the category with some of Africa’s best screen-actors like Ama K Abebrese, Chris Attoh, Majid Michel and Yvonne Okoro. The NEA is one of the highest and biggest awards ceremony hosted yearly in the U.S.
Korto has also starred in Providence[3] with Hollywood actress Vivica A. Fox, Just One Kiss, Comfort Zone, Living With Trisha, Crazy Maid, Heart Attack, and Touch My Body with fellow Liberian actor Josephus Tolbert, whom she recently worked with for the fourth time on the set of "Fatima's Revenge " in Atlanta, Ga this year... just to name a few. I had the pleasure of meeting and seeing Korto's talent first hand on the set of the film "Fatima" in 2017. However, almost 8 months later, we were back together for another film and she didn't disappoint. She is a true talent, with a beautiful and humbling spirit. You can clearly see that she is in her element when on set. But, she has an observant mind and spirit as well. I was lucky to get to know her a little more personally this time around. Therefore, I couldn't pass up on the opportunity to introduce you all to this amazing Goddess. I truly believe you will all come to know her on the small and big screen here in America very soon.
